An option under Medicare Supplements are called “Select” plans for Supplement Plan C and Plan F.
These plans are called C Select or F Select, depending on the plan.
These plans work the same as the a regular C and F plan. There is one major difference. With the “Select” plans you have to use network hospitals (with the exception of emergencies).
The premiums for the the Select C and F plans are lower than a regular C and F.
In my opinion the cost difference isn’t substantial enough to go with a “Select” plan. Plus you will limit your access to hospitals. Who knows what the future will bring and what hospital you will need to access for non-emergency care. It goes against the reason you have thought about a supplement or have purchased one.
